Rising Brooklyn-based duo Sex Week have dropped their new single, ‘Kid Muscle’. The band, made up of actor and musician Pearl Amanda Dickson and songwriter and producer Richard Orofino, have crafted a woozy, unique sonic world that blurs the line between its folk influences, the subtle sinister sound of grunge and its edgy dream-pop backbone. The end result is a piece of music that can place a menacingly quiet distorted guitar against the tender shake of a tambourine. It’s almost otherworldly. On the collaboration, they explain: “I think we have very different approaches to writing which really works in our favor. I (Orofino) come from a more proper musical background so chords, production, and instrumentation come naturally to me while Pearl is a writer.
